Abstract

The study analyzes the collaborative experience between the University of Ciego de Ávila (UNICA) and the Cayo Coco Tourism Construction Company (ECOTEC), with an emphasis on food sustainability. Its objective is to analyze the impact of the UNICA–ECOT partnership on organizational innovation and food sustainability through a multidimensional sabermetric evaluation framework. A single-case study with a mixed-methods approach was conducted. A total of 85 workers participated, selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected through surveys, expert interviews, production and accounting records from 2019–2025, and participant observation. Productive, economic, social, and organizational indicators were analyzed and integrated using the WAR Agro+ and OPS Agro+ indices. Favorable values were observed for organizational commitment (82/100), cultural relevance (4.2/5), food well-being (78%), and work motivation (3.9/5). Productivity reached 12.5 tons/ha, while the Agricultural Sustainability Index reached 72/100. Positive associations were reported between human capital variables and overall performance. The UNICA–ECOT experience shows favorable integration among productive, social, and organizational dimensions. The proposed indices enable the integration of different performance components, although opportunities for improvement remain in economic efficiency and sustainability.
