Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming human talent management by automating tasks and supporting decision-making in recruitment and personnel selection. This study analyzes university faculty members’ perceptions of the use of AI in personnel selection processes. A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive, exploratory, and correlational study was conducted. The sample comprised 33 faculty members selected through non-probability convenience sampling. A 25-item questionnaire, validated by experts and yielding Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient of 0.77, was administered. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman’s rank correlations. Of the participants, 73% reported using AI tools. Their levels of knowledge and assessments of the benefits, risks, ethical implications, and acceptance of AI fell within moderate ranges. A relative preference for hybrid models involving human oversight was observed. No statistically significant associations were identified between perceptions of AI and the sociodemographic variables analyzed. AI was regarded as a complementary tool for personnel selection; however, its acceptance depends on appropriate training, technological infrastructure, institutional regulation, and guaranteed human oversight.
