Amelogenesis imperfecta is a dental disease that affects the enamel structure, both in temporary and permanent dentition, and that may be associated with alterations in other dental, oral or extraoral tissues. The objective of this work is to report the clinical case of a 12-year-old female patient, who is taken by her mother to the dental office for a routine dental check-up, concerned about the aesthetic appearance of her teeth. On clinical examination, it was observed that the teeth had opaque enamel, brown spots, not translucent and without restorations. Based on the clinical-radiographic findings, the diagnosis of grade I amelogenesis imperfecta was made, and it was decided to perform an aesthetic treatment with infiltrating resin. The procedure followed is described and its implications in the management of amelogenesis imperfecta are discussed. It is concluded that this case shows the benefit of comprehensive management of the patient with a diagnosis of amelogenesis imperfecta grade I, and that the use of the infiltrating resin technique is a less invasive treatment option and especially beneficial in young patients, by allowing the preservation of a greater amount of healthy dental tissue.
