Abstract

The characteristics of the traditional dwellings of the Weenhayek people in the province of Gran Chaco in Bolivia have evolved from their origins to the present day, preserving in part their cultural constructive properties. However, the value and conservation of these constructive cultural traits have been influenced by sociocultural and economic factors in the region over time. The objective of this study is to systematize the existing conceptions about the characteristics of these traditional houses in the province of Gran Chaco. Through an integrated analysis of theoretical methods and empirical methods, it is evident that through cultural syncretism, that is, transculturation and miscegenation with other cultures that migrated to the region, it has been possible to preserve, maintain, endure and / or sustain its elements and / or traditional cultural constructive features of its culture (Weenhayek), in response to the surrounding socio-environmental economic conditions.
